This exercise is an amazing test of your ability to thrust and explode using your legs. You can do these jumps on to an elevated surface or simply on the ground reaching for the sky. Either way you choose, it is important to use the arms and get a deep bend at the knee. Be sure to exhale on the way up and get a full extension of your body. By doing this you can jump higher and get more out of the exercise. This is great for your quads, calves, hamstrings and cardio when you execute multiple reps.
